Interview Tips

Imagine a recruiter calling to you and asking to see if you would like to come in for a job interview. Your pulse races:     It isn’t until the night before the interview that your stomach drops, a feeling of slight dread sets in and you ask yourself, “What am I gonna wear?” “What am I gonna say?”
•    Getting ready for an interview should begin at least three days before the interview is scheduled to take place.
•    We’ll run down the top things you should do before the big day arrives.
•    Make sure your interview clothes are clean and pressed beforehand.
•    Make good-quality copies of your resume on a nice grade of paper. Take more copies than you will possibly need — just in case.
•    Practice Makes Perfect – Dedicate one night prior to the interview to a mock Q & A. You can set this up with a friend or conduct the interview yourself with a list of frequently-asked interview questions and a mirror.
•    Smile. Body language plays an important part in an interview.
•    If you feel that you just aren’t giving the right answers to an interviewer’s questions, try changing tactics — and ask the interviewer a few questions of your own.

REMEMBER IT
1.    What’s your favorite thing about working at this company?
2.    How would you describe the working environment here?
3.    What’s a typical day like in the department?
•    If you feel, you are lost in answering the question, maybe you misunderstood the question. Or maybe the question wasn’t phrased clearly. That doesn’t mean you have to struggle — just ask the interviewer for some clarification.

Flattery Will Get You Everywhere – Say a nice word or two about the company, the office’s location, the view from the window — something that will make the interviewer feel good. But beware, your compliments should not be too numerous, too obvious or too personal.
